Jan 5 at 7:00 a zoom and in person meeting in Luana and Waukon

Megan Barrett will share a one-hour tour of images and information about the current exhibit at the Iowa Quilter’s Museum: String Theory: String-pieced Quilts from Past to Present. String quilts are works made from (mostly) narrow strips of fabric—traditionally leftovers from other sewing. Economy-minded quilters saved money by utilizing “strings” of fabric accumulated in their scrap bags, often spending an incredible amount of time to fashion their frugal works. The exhibit includes quilts by 9 collectors and artists. This will be a Q and A at the end.  After the program if you have a string quilt to share we would love to see it as part of show and tell that evening.
