Show 2010 Nametag Directions

To construct a shoofly block using your scraps you will need the following.

4 - dark 1½ inch squares

2 - dark 1 7/8 inch squares

2 - light 1 7/8 inch squares

1 - light 1½ x 3½ rectangle

Make 4 half square triangles from the light and dark squares by doing the following.  Draw a diagonal line on the wrong side of the light squares. Sandwich one light and one dark square. Stitch ¼ inch from the line on each side. Cut on the diagonal line. Press open with your seam going to the dark side. Resize to 1 ½ inches. You will have 4 half square triangles.

Construct the block to look like the shoofly block pattern by placing a light square in the center of your block so that you can write NEIQG 2010 on that center square.  Add the 1½ x 3½ rectangle to the bottom  of the block. Write your name on the rectangle using any method you prefer such as pigma pen, sharpie, embroidery, etc.

Finish as desired.
